The ACR Perimeter Scan Security Assessment provides detailed reporting of the performance of your corporate enterprise Internet connection. The information is collected during a port scan of your public address space, There is also an option Denial of Service (DoS) scan that can be performed on the selected machines. The main goal of this service is to provide the information required to ensure your public–facing network is managed and operated in a secure manner.

Approach:This ACR service will remotely run a port scan, exploit test, and optionally a DoS attack on your public network. The scans and attacks are run only against machines approved by the customer.
Security Assessment—Perimeter Scan service delivers the following:
- A report of the port scans ranking problems by severity.
- For each problem the report will offer a tutorial for the problem, and it’s impact
- Recommendation to resolve the problem found
Service Requirements:
To conduct this Assessment service, ACR requires the following:
- A list of the subnets needed to be scanned
- A list of servers by type in the scanned subnets
- Any excluded servers in the scan
- Any excluded servers from the optional DoS attacks
Length of Service:
A Perimeter Scan Security Assessment will span 1 day.

The ACR Internet Assessment provides a detailed report of your company’s Internet traffic to determine both acceptable and unacceptable use of your corporate Internet. The information is collected using specialized products designed to analyze the traffic in a non-intrusive manner. An inclusive detailed report is generated to determine Internet utilization levels, traffic flow, employee productivity, as well as enforce acceptable use policies.

Approach:This ACR service utilizes a specialized network appliance to collect quantitative information about corporate Internet usage. This data forms the foundation to determine whether the Internet is being utilized for non-business purposes, while identifying peak usage periods, problem users, and possible web-based security threats such as spyware. ACR wants to help you ensure that inappropriate web usage is noted prior to causing bandwidth issues or turning into a potential law suit. The information is captured into a report that is presented to and reviewed with the Customer by one of ACR’s senior security consultants.
This assessment delivers a detailed report customized to your criteria. Among the reports that can be generated include the following:
- Top N Users by traffic flow to the Internet
- Websites visited by user
- Top users of 3rd party e-mail
- Time-based Internet usage graphs and charts
- Top URL categories visited

ACR requires the following prior to executing its Internet Assessment:
Physical access to place our specialized network appliance onto the customer network An IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway on the customer LAN that ACR can assign to the analysis device. Access to company Active Directory if individual users are going to be reported on. Secure remote access to the analysis device to ensure proper data collection.

The ACR Wide Area Traffic Assessment provides detailed report of the applications and data traffic that traverse the critical links in your corporate network. The information is collected using specialized application probes, which are non-intrusive to your network. The primary goal of this service is to provide the required information to understand the protocol and application mix of targeted WAN links, and the performance metrics of those applications.

- A complete understanding of the protocol and applications that consume critical WAN links.
- Identification of applications that are performing poorly or are “starved” for bandwidth over the WAN.
- Identification of performance efficiency of critical applications.

Approach:
This ACR service utilizes a specialized application probe to collect quantitative application and performance data. This data forms the foundation of the service, with expert analysis applied to determine application performance peaks, valleys, and potential problems for applications that are potentially starved for WAN bandwidth. ACR utilizes traffic management algorithms and provides specific recommendations for improving application performance through improved bandwidth management. This information captured in a report that is presented to and reviewed with the Customer.
This assessment delivers the following outputs:
- Application Traffic Discovery Report.
- Application “Top Ten” list based on bandwidth consumption.
- Inbound Bandwidth Utilization Report.

ACR requires the following prior to executing its WAN Assessment:
- Physical access to one endpoint of the target WAN.
- An IP Address and subnet mask on the endpoint LAN that ACR can assign to the analysis device.
- The IP Address of Default Internet Gateway, DNS Server, and other applicable Network elements.
- A list of known business Applications resident on the target WAN.

The ACR local area network Assessment service provides detail reporting of the performance of your corporate enterprise LAN infrastructure. The information is collected over a x-day period using console access to all routers and switches. The main goals of this service are to provide the information required to understand the current performance and error conditions of your Local area network.

The ACR Wireless Readiness Assessment service provides an analysis of an area under consideration for deployment of wireless services. Over a defined period, various tools will identify existing wireless network signals and characteristics associated with the signals. In addition, the analysis will provide information regarding Radio Frequency (RF) interference that could potentially impact the success of a wireless installation. The main goals of this service are to provide insights into the feasibility of introducing wireless technology to a location.
Features and Benefits:
- An understanding of existing wireless signals in either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands
- Detection of RF signals that may impact a wireless infrastructure deployment
- Access Point (AP) placement specifications and anticipated coverage maps to ensure compliance with coverage requirements
Approach:
This service begins with the collection of measurements at multiple key locations in the site under analysis. From this data, determinations can be made as to AP manufacturer selection, AP placement, anticipated performance and potential coverage issues. For existing installations, the data can be used to verify anticipated performance characteristics or troubleshoot issues within the environment.
Key Deliverables:
- A document describing each location test point, signals detected (frequency, channels, strength, etc), notes about the area (MRI machine in room 242, elevator shafts, ‘faraday’ glass, etc)
- AP Placement notes and diagrams
- RF Map and Anticipated Coverage Map
Service Requirements:
- A list of key locations within the site pertaining to coverage, user density, and availability.
- Access to the facility, and all areas under analysis
- A digital version of the floorplan(s) for the site

Blue Coat PacketShaper Remote Review
The ACR Blue Coat PacketShaper Remote Review service is a service that is designed to assist customers in their ongoing management of the Blue Coat PacketShaper. A Blue Coat Certified Expert will set up a secure remote WEB meeting to review with the customer their current PacketShaper classification strategy and control strategy. The engineer will also review with the customer the significant performance boundaries and the health of the PacketShaper appliance.
Features and Benefits:
- Review of your current classification and control strategy with recommendations if appropriate
- Review the health of the PacketShaper and determine if the technical boundaries of the appliance are being reached.
- Discuss with the Blue Coat Certified Expert any issues or concerns you have been experiencing or any changes you are thinking of making.
- Confirmation if what you are doing is correct
- Refresher as to the PacketShapers capabilities, classification and control abilities.
Approach:
This ACR service is provided by a Blue Coat Certified Expert remotely from our office in Branchburg, NJ. This remote meeting session is done via a secure WEB meeting so no remote access needs to be provided to the ACR engineer.
Key Deliverables:
- The Packeteer Certified expert will deliver via email a one page document reviewing what was found and any recommended course of action.
Service Requirements:
A date and time to have the secure meeting session.
• If available, a diagram displaying where the PacketShaper sits in the network.
• A list of key applications that you are using the PacketShaper to protect
Length of Service:
The length of the remote secure WEB session would depend on the number of Packetshapers under review.
